Fathers Day and a Birthday

My New Beginning, a New Reality kicks off this Sunday with a blessing to all the wonderful fathers out there and a couple birthday greetings.

It's been 12 years since I've purchased a Fathers Day Card.
My own Father passed away August of 2000.
Here's a photo of me and my folks back in 1988.
This is the only photo I have of me and my parents.
My late mother, me, and my father. July 1988
My Child won't know what it's like to be part of the Hallmark Hoopla for Fathers Day.
However, she has some mighty father figure influences that I wanted to recognize that have come alongside her that give her love and hugs.
No order of importance, just blessed to have these awesome men in Savannah's life.

The first one is my Brother in law Chris.
When we stayed with them last year he made a mini library in Savannah's room.
He purchased her a bike for her birthday last year.
Chris is always challenging her to do something more.
Doesn't mind if Savy hangs around when he washes vehicles on a Sunday when we stay for the weekend.
Thank you Chris for taking Savannah under your wing.

Then there's my brother in law Glen.
When ever there is a gathering at my sister and his house he makes a effort to check in on Savannah.
He's a grandfather to Dakota first, with the heartstrings tied to his own granddaugher he does a great checkin on Savannah.
Thank you Glen!
What a gorgeous picture of my brother in law and my sister Gloria.
How Photogenic is my sister?

My Friend Kathie's Husband Jon.
We've spent alot of Time with the McCoys.
They are a family with two active boys.
To bring a young girlie with the bag of emotions, around Jon who has boys, he sure knows how to care for Savannah and handle her.
He's always there to make her laugh, and include her in the fun with his own kids.
I don't have a better picture of him.
They came to visit and he decided to check his Iphone lounging on the couch.

I can't finish out a Father's day post without including my Best Friend's Husband "Uncle Jim" as Savy calls him.
She loves his hugs.
How many little girls will watch a car race and actually enjoy it.
It can be months between visits and when Savy see's Uncle Jim, its like time has stopped.
Hugs and bonding.

And lastly "Grandpa David".
David has taken Savannah on as his Granddaugher.
With no biologicial grandkids yet of his own, he loves Savy so very much.
There are pranks, and play, these two when they are together have so much fun.
I don't know who has more fun, David or Savannah?
I love this picture.
David you have been amazing with Savannah.
Words don't fit in enough how you have you have been there for us.
Sometimes a Thank you doesn't seem enough, and right now now is one of those times.
Happy Fathers Day!
With love Viola and Savy

Grandpa David and Savannah. This was when we took a tour of the
old trains in Campo, Ca a while back.
Sharing a birthday on Father's day.
Two people I know personally have a birthday today.
First my Friend Kathie.
(Her Husband Jon is recognized above, Ha)
Kathie and I worked at a San Diego Biotech Company.
She happened to be dating a guy in the Dept I worked in.
We had become friends through another admin.
Kathie was going on a woman's retreat through the church and asked if I wanted to go with her as someone had cancelled out on her.
Oh My Gosh...Did we have the best time.
We had so much in common.
We starting palling around on the weekends.
We met our husbands around the same time
Her Gavi and my Savi are only 8 mos apart.
I talk to her more than anyone else.
We share a laugh how we probably talk to one another over anyone else as a check in a couple times a week.
We hold nothing back with one another and share a quality friendship.
Kathie, I only wish you this next year a wonderful birthday year.
You do a amazing job as a daughter of Christ, A Wife in the home, A Mom to the boys, and to close out a  career woman.
Gavin and his Momma Kathie

Your balancing so much and by the grace of GOD you do it well.
I love you my friend.
God bless your 46th Birthday.
Vi

And finally to close out the post, my friend from San Diego Lori B, her husband Chris is
celebrating the big 50 today. I understand they are having a family gathering at their home, the birthday, fathers day gathering.
Lori shares that Chris is great with Grilling.
I'm sure they will do a wonderful job with pulling off a great 50th in Chris's honor.
Just some trivia, I was with Lori the night she met Chris.
We were at a wedding earlier in the day, and I didn't want to go home.
We went to a club, the place was super crowded.
I found us a place to sit.
A table with two young men.
There Chris sat.
I went and danced the night away.
Lori and Chris talked and the rest is his and her story.

Have a blessed rest of the weekend!

Viola
